Edison Concert Phonograph With Twin Horns

This is probably the best Edison Concert machine you will ever see. The first thing you notice is the pair of large matching all brass horns. This is not a Polyphone, however the single reproducer is equipped with a split neck adaptor. The twin horns create a large "sound stage" so the phonograph does not suffer from the narrow directional sound of a single horn. Rubber horn connectors allow the horns to be spaced either close together or fairly wide apart. Each horn is supported by an independent floor crane.
The phonograph has been restored to pristine original condition. All plated and painted parts gleam like new. The motor has been cleaned and adjusted and runs perfectly. The cabinet maintains the original finish, and the only damage is a small partially broken out spot on the rear of the lid. All parts on the phonograph are original - even the oil can. The only non-original parts are the floor cranes. One segment of original crane remains, but the rest has been fashioned from new stock. It would not be difficult to have a dual crane fabricated that would work well and look correct. The phonograph comes with an Automatic reproducer and a Model D reproducer in an original box. Both reproducers have been properly rebuilt and play very well. Four concert cylinders are included with the instrument.
Normally, such a unique phonograph would be offered in the $5000 range, but considering the horn cranes need to be upgraded, we are offering this fine example at $4495.00 The phonograph is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the phonograph is vary heavy and shipping would be costly. However, if shipping is requested, buyer arranges and pays for all crating and shipping costs. California buyers must pay 8.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Please contact us for further information or to make an appointment to see and hear this wonderful phonograph. Amberola 1A - 2 and 4 Minute Floor Model

This is probably the most desireable model of the Edison Amberola series. It is the only instrument in the series capable of playing 2 minute, 4 minute wax Amberol and 4 minute Blue Amberol cylinders. Both reproducers are present - the Model M for 2 and 4 minute wax and the Model A for Blue Amberols. The motor and both reproducers are in excellent condition. The cabinet was originally fumed oak, but a previous owner has refinished the exterior using a golden oak stain. The bedplate is the traditional gun metal finish, and the reproducers are finished in a tiger stripe pattern. The drawers work freely and the cabinet is solid except for a horizontal crack running the width of the top piece of the lid. Some minor cosmetic cleaning would benefit the appearance, but overall this is a fine example of Edison craftmanship.
The price is $5995.00. The phonograph is located in Beaumont CA in the home of the owner. Pickup is preferred by the owner, as the phonograph is large and shipping would be costly. However, if shipping is requested, buyer arranges and pays for all crating and shipping costs. California buyers must pay 8.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Please contact us for further information or to make an appointment to see and hear this wonderful phonograph. Click here to return to the list of phonographs.
Columbia AB Concert Phonograph

The Columbia AB is one of the smallest phonographs designed to play the five inch Concert cylinders. Based on the mechanism of the Columbia B, this machine uses a slip-on mandrel and a unique sliding adjustment on the carriage to accomidate these large cylinders. It is very simple to remove the slip on mandrel, readjust the carriage, and then play standard 2 minute cylinders.
The case is in excellent condition, and the decal is bright and clear. The aluminum horn and winding key are both reproductions, the rest of the machine is fully original. The plating is bright and clean on the mechanism, the reproducer has been rebuilt, and the motor runs quietly. Overall, the phonograph plays both concert and standard cylinders very well. And of course, it is a visually arresting machine, with it's open works motor and bright aluminum horn. One 5" concert cylinder is included with the phonograph.
The price is $1995.00. The phonograph is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the phonograph is delicate and shipping would be costly.
Pathe Salon Cylinder Phonograph

Pathe introduced it's "Salon" or Intermediate cylinder phonographs in France, and they were not regularly imported to the USA. Therefore, this type of phonograph and it's related cylinders are rarely found here. This example is housed in the unique "flip-over" cabinet style, where the mechanism is inverted and secured inside the lower part of the cabinet for transport, and then removed and set upright on the cabinet base when in use. A very clever system allows the owner to play either Pathe Salon cylinders or standard size 2 minute cylinders. The slip-on mandrel is easily removed, and an adjustment on the carriage brings the reproducer into position to play regular cylinders.
The cabinet is in excellent condition, with only a few small marks present. The decal is bright and clear. The mechanism is quite clean, and the aluminum horn still retains a nice shine. Both the motor and the reproducer are in good condition, so the phonograph plays and sounds just fine. All parts are original. One Pathe Salon cylinder is included with the machine.
The price is $995.00. The phonograph is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the phonograph is delicate and shipping would be costly.
European Puck Cylinder Phonograph

The "Puck" style cylinder phonograph was quite popular in Europe, with many companies offering some variation of this style. Most are not marked, and since they were generally considered as toys and sold very cheaply, it is sometimes difficult to trace the manufacturer.
This example bears no maker's name, but is complete and original with the exception of the reproducer and horn which are excellent reproductions. As a bonus, an original Puck horn is included, and could be easily adapted to fit this phonograph. The plating has a nice patina of age, without any severe rust or corrosion. It's problematic to state that this phonograph "runs well" as Puck machines are notorious for erratic playing. Let's just say that this one runs as well as can be expected from such a machine.
The price is $495.00. The phonograph is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the phonograph is delicate and shipping would be costly.
Busy Bee Disc Phonograph

Bringing this little Busy Bee back to playing condition should be an easy project. The reproducer is a reproduction, and needs some work to be fully playable. The motor runs well, the cabinet is in good shape (as is the decal), the support arm is present (may also be a reproduction), and the horn is free of any major damage - most noteably it needs paint on the outside. Give it a little TLC and you'll have a nice phonograph to add to your collection.
The price is $395.00. The phonograph is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the phonograph is delicate and shipping would be costly. However, if shipping is requested, buyer arranges and pays for all crating and shipping costs. California buyers must pay 8.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Edison Home Model D

This Edison Home is equipped to play both 2 and 4 minute cylinders. It comes with a factory installed gear change, as well as both Model C (two minute) and Model H (four minute) reproducers. It comes with a large repainted Edison Home morninglory horn and crane. The horn was not available for photos when this machine was listed - it will be added as soon as it is ready. The phonograph cabinet has been nicely refinished, and the bedplate looks good, although there is some wear to the gold and blue striping. There is no lid. This is an excellent phonograph for all purpose use in playing different types of cylinders.
The price is $595.00. Please contact us for further information or to make an appointment to see and hear this wonderful phonograph. Click here to return to the list of phonographs.
Edison Standard Phonograph, Model B (Banner)

Here is a simple and straightforward Edison Standard Model B which plays two minute cylinders. The motor has been cleaned and adjusted and runs well. The Model C reproducer has been rebuilt, so the phonograph plays and sounds like new. The cabinet is clean and intact, the lid is present, and the striking banner decal is intact. A fanciful home made horn is included. This is a good machine for the beginning collector.
The price is $495.00. The phonograph is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the phonograph is delicate and shipping would be costly. However, if shipping is requested, buyer arranges and pays for all crating and shipping costs. California buyers must pay 8.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Edison Standard D with a Flowered Horn

After market hand painted flowered horns were a popular accessory when this phonograph was new, but very few of these horns have survived over the years. This example is in overall good condition. There are some scratches and marks on the rim, but the horn is structurally intact and free of any major damage or dents. The phonograph is an Edison Standard D, complete with both Model C and Model H reproducers and the proper lid. The motor has been cleaned and adjusted and runs well. The reproducers have been rebuilt, so the phonograph plays and sounds like new. The horn crane is a reproduction and the gear cover is missing, otherwise this pretty machine is fully original and functional and ready to join your collection.
The price is $695.00. Please contact us for further information or to make an appointment to see and hear this wonderful phonograph. Click here to return to the list of phonographs.
European Columbia Cylinder Graphophone, Model K

This is a lovely little European variation on an American classic phonograph. The phonograph is enclosed in a "flip top" cabinet - in other words, the mechanism and the mounting board simply are inverted and secured with clips into the bottom of the cabinet. The machine is fully original and functional. Perhaps the most outstanding feature is the thin red cardboard horn. Although there is a small chip out of the rim, the horn is basically intact. The survival rate for this type of fragile horn is just about zero, and precious few examples remain intact today. The specialist collector will recognize the unique nature of this instrument.
The price was $1595.00, Now Reduced to 995.00. Please contact us for further information or to make an appointment to see and hear this wonderful phonograph. Click here to return to the list of phonographs.
Home Music Box Cob Organ

Here is a nice little cob organ that needs further restoration. The previous owner has recovered the lower pneumatics but did not replace the flap valves so the unit presently cannot create any vacuum. The upper reservoir has also been recovered, and by working it manually it appears that the reeds are in good condition. The rotating drive mechanism would benefit by some adjustment and lubrication. The case is generally in good condition with the excepting of some marks and scratches. The glass panel is missing from the hinged front. On the plus side, there are over 20 cobs included with the instrument.
The price is $195.00 as-is. The instrument is located in Roseville CA. Pickup is preferred, as the unit is delicate and shipping would be costly. However, if shipping is requested, buyer arranges and pays for all crating and shipping costs. California buyers must pay 8.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Please contact us for further information or to make an appointment to see and hear this potentially nice cob organ. Click here to return to the list of phonographs.
