Phonographs for Sale

Although we are primarily record dealers, we usually have a few nice hand wound phonographs for sale. All phonographs are restored to good playing condition using original parts whenever possible. The cabinets are cleaned and touched up, but usually not refinished. We currently have the following available:

Columbia BF Peerless With Six Inch Mandrel

The Columbia BF "Peerless" was unique in that it has an extended mandrel to play the rare "Twentieth Century" six inch Columbia Cylinder. Of course it also plays any type of standard 2 minute cylinder. This example is equipped with a large Hawthorn & Sheble horn with a rear support crane. The horn still maintains its original paint, and has only a few marks and scratches. The phonograph is in very good condition, and plays perfectly. The reproducer has been rebuilt, and the motor has been cleaned, lubricated and adjusted properly. The nickle plating on the bedplate is quite shiny, the floral decorations are still bright and colorful, and the finish on the cabinet is original and looks good. The single reproduction part on the machine is the upper rod of the horn crane. The only word of caution on this fine instrument is that with its large horn, it tends to be a bit front heavy, and should be placed on a very secure table or cabinet. Priced at $1495, pickup in Roseville CA preferred as shipment of the large horn may be difficult. California Residents must pay 7.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Please contact us for further information.

Victrola XVI L-Door in Quarter Sawn Oak

Victrola XVI (Sixteen) in quarter sawn oak. This is the early "L-door" cabinet that is popular with collectors today. The motor has been cleaned, adjusted and lubricated and runs perfectly. The reproducer has been rebuilt, so the phonograph plays and sounds like new. A previous owner did a very good job of refinishing the cabinet to highlight the deeply grained quarter sawn oak wood. The bottom storage drawer is a reproduction, otherwise the phonograph is fully original. A set of empty record storage albums are included that are similar to the original storage boxes.

Priced at $995, pickup only in Roseville CA - no shipping. California residents must pay 7.25% sales tax or provide a valid resale number. Please contact us for further information.

These phonographs are available for inspection by appointment only. We may also have other phonographs that are either displayed at our Retail Location, or at our Spring and Fall antique shows. Visit the What's New page for dates and locations of our upcoming shows.
